In Practice with Andi and Kristina

Andi Vicente - one of my dearest friends and partners in art - and I have started In Practice: bi-weekly (second and fourth Wednesdays of every month) drop in sessions to carve out time and space dedicated to talking about our practices, sharing ideas and feedback, and re-rooting our work with other artists.

The drop-ins are free and open to all to attend. Andi has drafted the following guidelines so that we can provide a space that’s welcoming, safe, and generative. If you’re down with the following, we hope you’ll join us.

Next drop in: Wednesday October 27, 8-9 PM EST (Montreal/Ottawa time)

Accessibility & Guidelines

(Please note that the guidelines apply to the facilitators as well.)

The drop in sessions will take place on Zoom and will be facilitated in English. You will be sent the link prior to the session. Live captions and French interpretation will be made available upon request. Folks are allowed to call in and keep their camera off if they wish and are not obligated to participate in sharing. The sessions will not be recorded. Facilitators and participants are not permitted to take photos, videos without the collective permission of the group.

There will be zero tolerance of any form of discrimination and abuse in this space. Any instance of harm will be met with the immediate removal of the participant from the session and a follow up accountability check in.

We are gathering and sharing in a space and territory that may not necessarily be our homeland so we ask that participants take the time to be reflective of our positionalities, intentions and to bring in energies that are open, communicative and respectful.

When sharing experiences please use “I” statements.

If at any point, the material discussed is triggering or you need extra support, please feel free to directly message one of the facilitators.

When giving feedback to a fellow artist, please ensure that it is constructive, specific and focused on the work itself and not the artist.

Thank you for reviewing our guidelines. We are constantly learning how to make things more accessible and inclusive. If you wish to add to these or discuss one or some of these points, feel free to reach out to us.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Andi & Kristina
